Description

The Inclusion and Belonging Place (IBP) is developed and operated as a partnership between the University Library System (ULS) and the Office of Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion (OEDI). It is located on the first floor of Hillman Library, to the left of Saxby's Cafe.

Please review the ULS Event Policy for Hillman Library before submitting a request. 

• All events in the Inclusion & Belonging Place must intersect with the themes of equity, inclusion and or belonging. This space is not intended for tabling. 
• This is a public, nonenclosed space. Events must be respectful to patrons in the general library space, and must not cause any audible, visual, or physical disruptions to those patrons.
• Event requests cannot exceed a two (2)-hour timeframe (not including setup and teardown). Requests cannot be made within one (1) week of date of the event.
• Requests are automatically provided with one (1) hour for setup and one (1) hour for teardown. If more time is needed, please request additional time to uls-events@pitt.edu. 
• The IBP event space has a maximum capacity that ranges from 30 people with current armchair type seating or close to 45 people with more compact classroom type seating.
• It is the responsibility of the requesting party to arrange the furniture to their desired setting. Existing furniture cannot be removed from the space. Additional furniture from the cafe area can be brought into the space, but the total number of seats cannot exceed 45.
• It is also the responsibility of the requesting party to rearrange the furniture to the arrangement that they received the room in, and return any additional furniture brought into the space for the event.
