 public. RSVP below.\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\nPlease join us for a discussion 
 with national musicians who performed with Sam Rivers’ Rivbea Orchestra\, 
 providing us insight on what it was like to know Sam Rivers as a musician 
 and friend. Participants will include Joseph Daley (euphonium) and Steve 
 Coleman (alto saxophone)\, both of whom worked with Rivers in New York 
 during the early days of Studio Rivbea and beyond\; and Dave Mathews (bass) 
 and Craig Harris (trombone) who worked with Rivers during his years in 
 Orlando. Kathryn Haines\, who leads Pitt’s Center for American Music\, 
 will moderate the discussion and display materials from the archive.\n\n 
 \n\nRivers was widely known in both traditional and avant-garde jazz 
 circles. His extensive archive\, which includes hundreds of scores and 
 unreleased audio and video performances\, was recently acquired by the 
 University of Pittsburgh Library System. \n\n\n\n \n\nHosted as part of the 
 54th Annual Pitt Jazz Seminar and Concert by the University of Pittsburgh 
 Library System and Jazz Studies program. \n\n \n\nAlso join us for us for

 Garage (.2 miles from the library). Hillman is also accessible by public

 Avenue address\, accessed by a ramp leading from street level to the First 
 Floor plaza. Sidewalks around the library are closed as part of library
