“Research notebook” software, such as RNotebooks and Jupyter Notebooks, offer powerful functionality for conducting research—and not just for writing code. RStudio is free, open-source software which can be used to write documents and presentations in one plain-text format, with easy and configurable rendering to many other formats (Word, PDF, HTML, PowerPoint, etc.). In this 20-minute presentation, we’ll see examples of how researchers are utilizing RStudio for research authoring and get a quick hands-on tour to starting your own documents. Non-coders are welcome; no code required!
