This workshop will introduce you to the basics of geographic information system (GIS) mapping using ESRI’s free ArcGIS Online platform. You will learn how to acquire and format data for mapping, upload it into the ArcGIS online system, and create a series of maps. After creating the maps, you can then export your maps to ESRI’s Story Maps, which will allow you to create stable link to a mixed media mapping project that you can use for research, teaching, and job portfolio purposes. In order to use ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Story Maps, you will need to create a free public ArcGIS account.

Can't make it to this workshop? You can always contact us with your questions about this and other data-related topics.

This workshop is part of our Navigating Digital Cartography Series.
