This project is a multimedia exhibit comprised of photography and film, featuring the work of three artists, Thayjas Patil, Samir Yellapragada, and Adi Mittal. With the ultimate goal of bringing to light the struggles of children around the world, this exhibit aims to put an added focus on those of immigrants and refugees. Photos taken in Nepal with help of the Rukmini Foundation, showcase the daily struggles of poor children in their fight for proper education and healthcare. A photovoice project at the ARYSE summer camp shows how immigrant and refugee children feel about their community. The exhibit also includes a short documentary film which documents the experiences of a Syrian immigrant child as he adjusts to life in Pittsburgh both inside and outside of the classroom. The documentary was filmed entirely at the PRYSE Summer Academy which hosts an annual summer camp for immigrants and refugees.

PRYSE and ARYSE have a similar goal to lessen the burden for immigrant and refugee children as the integrate into American life. By including daily soccer games, field trips in the Pittsburgh area, numerous creative expression opportunities, and hosting a final showcase, the academy allows the children to grow creatively and socially.

The Rukmini Foundation provides education for young girls who cannot afford to go to school in Nepal. They also provide various mentorship, health, and education opportunities for not only the girls but entire schools and villages to help raise communities out of impoverished conditions.
