During this interactive workshop, participants learn the basics of 3D printing by examining current technologies, using online resources to find and generate 3D models, and following the steps of the printing process from start to finish. Participants will acquire the knowledge and confidence required to proceed to creating a 3D print with the Open Lab printers. This workshop will be offered throughout the Spring Term – please visit www.teaching.pitt.edu/open-lab for dates and times. Registration is required.
After this workshop, participants should be able to:
- Explain the basic concepts of 3D printing
- Use online resources to find and generate 3D models
- Describe best practices in creating 3D printed objects
- Detail the steps of the 3D printing process
