Reaching Special Populations: How to Engage w/ Traditionally Underrepresented Communities (Latinos, African Americans, Refugees, persons w/ Disabilities) in Research will be presented by Mylynda Massart, MD, PhD, Medical Director, Matilda Theiss Health Center-UPMC and Co-Director CTSI Integrating Special Populations Core, for a methods and tools to think outside the box and effectively reach and dissemination information to special populations, specifically those that may be underrepresented in traditional biomedical research. Engaging these communities requires an understanding of their needs, preferences, and behaviors, specifically as it relates to health and research (subject matter: scientist in society)
