Please join us for an artist exhibition featuring the work of Imani Batts creator and owner of Catherine Trendz. Imani is a Pittsburgh native with an unwavering commitment to sustainable fashion. Her passion is rooted in her love for both fashion and environmental consciousness. Imani's designs are a testament to the beauty of repurposing and upcycling. Her creations evoke a sense of nostalgia, as she incorporates vintage elements and cherished childhood memories into each piece. Imani's previous body of work includes the GRWM (Get Ready With Me) Runway Collection. This collection was inspired by Black hair, black culture, and black experiences. Drawing from the familiar aesthetics of local beauty supply stores, this body of work celebrated black culture and allowed viewers to reminisce on past times. Imani is a recipient of the August Wilson Archive Community Artist Scholar Award. Her new body of work titled Nothing New Under The Sun was inspired by her dedicated research in the August Wilson Archive and plays on themes and characters from King Hedley II and Seven Guitars. This event is FREE and open to the public.
