This April marks the 100th anniversary of the last performance and death of the Italian actress Eleonora Duse here in Oakland.  Duse performed Marco Prage’s La Porta Chiusa on April 5th, 1924 in the Syria Mosque and then died at the Schenley Hotel (now the William Pitt Union) on April 21, 1924.  This exhibit features materials from the Curtis Theatre Collection relating to Duse’s final performance in Pittsburgh.
