Effective data visualization is vital for communicating your research and making an impact. This presentation has two parts. In Part I, we present recommended conceptual practices and rules-of-thumb, with specific examples. Part II is a hands-on exercise using Tableau Public, a free data visualization tool that can be used to create interactive graphs, dashboards, maps, and tables from virtually any data.
