About the Lunchroom

Funded by the University of Pittsburgh’s Hill Community Engagement Center, the Lunchroom is a pitch competition that introduces high school students to the basic business skills needed to create a new social or technology-based venture. This inaugural competition, designed by the Pitt University Library System in partnership with the nonprofit School 2 Career, aims to encourage and support our youth in solving the pressing problems of our communities.

Over the past six weeks, the students have received guidance from university and community practitioners to develop critical real-world skills in ideation, product development, business planning, and pitching an opportunity before investors.
