OA Week Lunch & Learn: What is open access? (Online)
Event box
In celebration of Open Access Week, join us online for the first of four Lunch & Learn sessions that will cover various aspects of open access. This session will provide a brief overview of the open access movement and its history, the benefits and challenges of OA publishing, and some common terms you may encounter.
These Lunch & Learn events are designed to be casual workshops that you can drop in or out of as your schedule allows. In order to receive the link to each session's Zoom meeting, you will need to register for the event, but registration will remain open throughout the session. Bring questions if you have them!
Open Access Week is an annual global event that serves as an opportunity for the academic and research community to continue to learn about the potential benefits of Open Access, share what they’ve learned with colleagues, and help inspire wider participation in helping to make Open Access a new norm in scholarship and research. Open Access to information – the free, immediate, online access to the results of scholarly research, and the right to use and re-use those results as you need – has the power to transform the way research and scientific inquiry are conducted. It has direct and widespread implications for academia, medicine, science, industry, and for society as a whole.
