This workshop will demonstrate several tools for creating simulations, personalized learning and mastery learning modules using Blackboard, Qualtrics and VPSim. Using these tools, you can create innovative online and blended learning experiences for your students that allow them to work at their own pace to master content, use formative assessments to personalize their learning path, and participate in rich simulations that encourage active learning and decision-making. To get the most out of this session, attendees should have a basic working knowledge of Blackboard and Qualtrics. (For an introduction to Qualtrics, please register for the Teaching Center's Qualtrics Survey System workshop on August 7 or October 3.)

By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Understand the benefits of personalized learning and simulations in the classroom
  • Use advanced adaptive release and achievements in Blackboard
  • Use the Survey Flow and Embedded Data to create branching in Qualtrics
  • Request a VPSim account and build a basic simulation
